PolyFlex systems are polyurethane-based sports surfaces that allow for the construction of continuous, seam-free sports floors, providing maximum durability and long lifespan for facilities that are subject to intense use. Its composition makes it so that the PolyFlex system requires minimal maintenance and is easy to clean, making it an ideal solution for schools and public sports centers.
The PolyFlex family of products is manufactured with raw materials from Herculan in The Netherlands, and have ISO 14001 and Global Green Tag certifications, meeting all the requirements to build an environmentally friendly sports facility.
PolyFlex sports floors can be built in a wide range of colors, with the possibility of combining different colors within the court, allowing for a unique look to each project.
PolyFlex is composed of an elastic layer (either PU+SBR, foam, or wood) over which various coats of liquid polyurethane are applied; after the curing process is finished, the desired texture and hardness is obtained. By modifying the composition of the various layers of the PolyFlex system, we can achieve a wide variety of properties to tailor the surface to the demands of each project.
The MF system is the most widely used polyurethane sports floor. It is composed of a PU+SBR elastic layer and various coats of polyurethane pore sealer, self-leveling layer, and wear layer, creating one of the most durable and long lasting sports surfaces available. PolyFlex MF is approved by FIBA and BWF, and complies with EN 14904 and IHF.
MF OD is a variant of the MF system that is ideal for outdoor installations. Its coarse texture creates an ideal grip, even in humid conditions, and the UV protection incorporated into the raw materials allows for the construction of a safe sports surface with excellent athletic properties in locations where only cement or asphalt courts were previously possible.
The MF RH system is a variant of the classic MF that incorporates an intermediate stiffening layer which allows for skates and wheeled sports, making it ideal for roller hockey, wheelchair basketball, among others.
The MF Blue system has an almost identical composition to the MF, however the PU+SBR elastic layer is replaced with a sports foam layer made from 100% virgin materials, allowing for the same performance characteristics in a lower thickness.
The MB system’s construction is similar to the MF and MF Blue, with the addition of various reinforcement layers to create a load-distribution core that allows for any type of sports activities, as well as other kinds of events like concerts or trade shows without the need for additional protection.
The SR system utilizes an elastic layer composed of foam and rubber to achieve resiliency and shock absorption, over which a highly flexible and spike-resistant layer is applied in order to allow for any sport, including indoor track and field.
The ME system combines the benefits of area-elastic wood floors and point-elastic polyurethane floors. In this case, the PU+SBR or sports foam elastic layer can either be replaced with, or complemented by, a wooden subfloor system in order to obtain a sports floor with the durability of polyurethane systems, along with the performance of wooden products.
